GIRLS GET BUSY BLOG TAKEOVER: Black Salt Collective - Day 1

We invited Black Salt to do a series of blog posts this week showcasing who they are as a collective and as individuals. They’ll be a post every day from Monday 4th Feb - Friday 8th Feb including a mixtape, their favourite internet videos, book recommendations and more!

Black Salt is a new art collective focusing entirely on cultural and contemporary narratives. The work is cultural, but not “cultural” in the anthropological sense of the word. Cultural art is often seen through a Western lens, whereas Black Salt is strictly about contemporary work in which experience results in atmosphere. They operate by creating work that navigates both linear and non-linear narratives, as well as placing emphasis on identity. It features the work of three emerging artists: Fanciulla Gentile, Grace Rosario Perkins, and Adee Roberson, all of whom possess different skill sets but are unified by vision and collaboration.
